The short form of the answer is one was tired of the length of time spent on the road while touring, and the other had a child and wanted to spend time with the family, and therefore also was less interested in the time away from home that comes with touring.
Scoota and Jason are great musicians, by the way. Great at the improv/jamming that comes with being in Matis’ band.
I have seen Scoota and Jason perform 5 times with the band and they are both awesome. In addition the keybord player is new too, Rob Marcher (sp) is his name.
In fact, I DVR’d (is that now a word?) Matis’ Bonefish Grill Show (that I attended)and my 2 kids LOVE it. Everyday they runaround my basement singing Escape and Nature…My 3 yr old with Lincoln Logs banging on the table claiming “I am Scoota” If you guys read this KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!
