I would like to get everyone’s favorite Matisyahu song.

I’ll start: mine is “Got no Water”

Even after having it heard 600 times - it’s still “King Without A Crown”!

From Shake Off The Dust, I’d have to go with Refuge.  So peaceful.

From Youth, I’d go with Time of Your Song.

Candle, Late Night In Zion and I Will Be Light are just a few. I will say this I have not been able to find a song I didn’t like from him.

Without a doubt: Exaltation.  Followed by Got No Water and Time of Your Song.

That being said, the studio versions of Escape and Thunder sounded insanely good when Matis played them for us after shows on the last tour.

For me, it’s almost impossible to just choose one song. The incontestable KWOAC of course, but you also have Close My Eyes, Exaltation, Late Night in Zion, Unique is My Dove, Fire Of Heaven/Altar of Earth, etc. I think we have to recognize that all of his songs show us perspectives, messages, and they all are inspirational music. When you have that combination of values, it’s really hard to name just one…

I love Close My Eyes from the Shake Off The Dust.  Out of all his songs, if someone asked me to put on some Matisyahu then that’s the first song I’d play.  I really like the guitar riffs on it and the part when he says “From Jerusalem, you take me high make me fly like an arrow upon a sky.”

Great question to present because each show is a different version of the song.  I have attended over 15 Matis shows starting when he played with O.A.R. at MSG.  I Rank as follows

5.  NATURE       Raw audio from Bonefish Grill (thanx Leib) GREAT BEAT BOX
4.  KWOAC       Live @ Stubs
3.  Warrior       Starland Ballroom
2   Escape       Florida (last summer)
1.  Close My Eyes   Starland Ballroom…In this version he is testing the lyrics to what would become the hit Jeruselum.  He does it so seamlessly you can’t even tell it would become it’s own song.

NEW MUSIC KICKS ASS!  GREAT JOB TO TREVOR HALL.  He deserves more props!

I relaly like
Indestructible and Time of Your Song

And Late Night in Zion is awesome, and reminds me of my trip to Israel.

That said, the only Matisyahu music I didn’t like was the “dub” remix tracks off of the No Place to Be CD.

It’s hard to pick just one, but lately I really like Thunder, it pinches my nerves all over. Jerusalem is also an anthem.

Great stuff.
